MAINTENANCE FOR PERFORMANCE

Like human, your computer (laptop, notebook, PC, etc) also need a maintenance and treatment to keep it always in a great condition. Leaking in performance happen if the computer less in maintenance. Especially for the computer that run for 24 hours a day and seven days a week. Then you need a special time to maintenance them. Commonly for computer like that (the one that continuously operated, for example server), the maintenance done every month.

There are a few point you can do to maintenance your computer to keep it always in a good condition and performance, I will not limited it, you can added other point if you want, the point is:

  • Do regular maintenance of your computer hardware. Cleaning the CPU Fan, motherboard, VGA Chard, and other part of computer from the dust that cover it. Many dust in the fan will reduce the cooling function of the fan, many dust in the mother board will reduce heat release from the mother board surface.
  • Do regular scan disk to check you hard disk health, don’t forget to do disk defragment also. Scan disk important to know the bad sector in your hard disk, so you can fix it early.
  • Do registry cleaning to erase unused registry files, especially if you have uninstall program from your computer, commonly registry files of the program didn’t erased when we uninstall it. You can use registry cleaner software for this purpose.
  • Back up your unneeded data to external storage like CD’s, DVD’s or other remove able disk. Rather than keep it on your computer hard disk, it’s also prevent you from losing important data if something happen to your computer.
  • Don’t forget to keep anti virus installed on your computer, especially if you connected to internet. Update your anti virus database daily or at least weekly, cos every day there are new viruses variant release in the internet.

By doing all point that I mentioned above, you computer will always in the best performance.

How to redirect dead link on wordpress ?

When the visitor visit the link that has die or a post that has been deleted by the owner of the website / blog. Most of the visitor that see a page like this will soon close the page and (if the visitor comes from search engines) will soon open the next search engine results.

Of course we do not want things like this happen on our blog visitor, the visitor close our blog because they do not find what they are looking for.
We can make a redirect (divert) eror 404 pages to other URL as we like, for example to the home or to a kategory. How to do that ? the answer is  by  edit the 404 template (404.php) through the Theme Editor.
